  • Cardstock – regular printer paper works, but cardstock holds up much better in a crowded lunchbox and won’t get soggy as quickly if it ends up next to a juice box.
  • Color Printer – These notes are bright and colorful, so a color printer makes them really pop.
  • Paper cutter or scissors – A paper cutter makes quick work of the straight lines, but scissors work just fine too!

Prep the whole month at once! Print and cut all the notes at the beginning of October, then clip them together with a binder clip and keep them right next to your lunch boxes. Each morning, just grab one and go. Future you will be so thankful on those crazy school mornings.

Expert Tips

  • Pop them in a zip-top bag. If your kids’ lunches tend to get messy, slip the note into a small sandwich bag so it stays clean and readable.
  • Save the motivational ones for tough days. Keep a few of the encouraging notes aside for days with a big test, a sports game, or a nervous morning.
